I found out I had water in my gas tank a few weeks ago. I use the solution to get rid of it but I am still hearing the clinging noise. Now I find out I need new spark plugs to get rid of the noise. Is this expensive? Any other way to get rid of that clinging noise? How much does it cost to change spark plugs in a 2003 Nissan Maxima?
Do it yourself = $12
Mechanic = $150How much does it cost to change spark plugs in a 2003 Nissan Maxima?
you can do it yourself for cheap. they only cost like $10 and you just need a socket wrench that matches the size of the plugs
i own a shop, and if you have it done ,parts and labor all together will run you around 40 bucks for this, and please have then use a good spark plug back in it, go with an ngk or a Bosch plug, don't settle for anything less, good luck hope this helps.
Depending on whether or not you're having a dealer doing the work, you can more than likely buy your plugs at a local autostore such as Autozone and have them check the correct gap/clearence for you.
While the installer may not be responsible for the part unless they sold it to you, they are to be responsible for the labor!
Save yourself some money and do what you can yourself..
Spark plugs range from $1-$3. You will need one for each cylinder. You also need a special socket with a rubber fitting (5/8 or 13/16). This should cost you no more than $35. This job is easy to do yourself, and if you go to a shop, you will pay at least $65 just for the labor.
