There are different kinds of spark plugs for all kinds of cars. You can go to any auto parts store and they will look at your car and tell you what kind you will need. To change them it is fairly easy. You will require some tools, like a ratchet and a 5/8 deep socket, also you will need a spark plug gauge to adjust the gap on the tip of each new plug.
You also need to inspect the wires to make sure they are not cracked or frayed. I would recommend doing on plug at a time that way you will not cross wires, cause then you will make your vehicle backfire.
If you have a AutoZone they will be more than helpful if you dont comepletly understand. How do u change spark plugs?
pull the rubber connection hose thing off, then get roughly a 1/2inch rachet and unloosen the plug and replace with new one and replace rubber connector.that should be all if there still a problem check your fuses.
There are specific spark plugs for each vehicle, except diesel. Tell the auto parts store which vehicle you have, etc.
The plugs can be changed with a regular socket of the correct size, but it is easier with a spark plug socket.
Also when you replace them make sure you properly torque them. There are spark plug sockets that are fairly inexpensive and will keep you from damaging the spark plug.
There are two trains of thought. Some people put anti-seize on the threads other people do not. In a way it makes sense because it will hopefully keep them from locking up in your head lowering the chance of breaking one off, be very careful to not pull in anyway on them because you can break them then they will have to be drilled out and that is a pain.
Also make sure you don't cross thread them. When you put in the new spark plug gently turn it in by hand. If you feel the slightest bit of resistance back the plug out and start again. If you cross thread it then you could have problems down the road. Once you get it hand tight use a torque wrench to make sure you have the proper torque on the plug. If you don't have one rent one from an autozone or o'reilly's. Some people say to get it hand tight then turn it a quarter turn past that. I prefer the torque wrench because then it is typically much more accurate. If you don't tighten it in enough you could have a major problem down the road when it loosens up and possibly blows it out.
if you have to ask go to the mechanic.
sorry
