Remove the hex head bolts (4), and pull the cover up. Remove the plug wires and plugs one at a time. Don't forget to use a small amount of anti-seize on the new plug threads.

Have you had the timing belt replaced yet? The service interval is 60k miles, and the engine can be severely damaged if it breaks.I need to know how to change spark plugs in a 2004 chevy aveo?
you first need to remove the black cover that goes cover the engine, it has to be removed before you can see the spark plug wires under it, it may require allan wrench
never worked on an aveo but i looked at a picture on the web and it looks like there is a plastic cover that has to be removed. if your looking at the engine on the drivers side you can see the ignition box with the spark plug wires coming out and going under the cover. looks like four screws hold it in place. take that off and the follow the wires. you might need a long extention to get at them as this is a dohc engine and the plugs might be deep in the engine.
take the spark plug caps off, put wrench on plugs. turn left, remove. insert new plugs, put wrench on plugs, turn right, re insert caps on plugs.
